Rules

Every rule this client runs, grouped by the moment it fires. A rule is when this, then that, and it can be switched off without being deleted.

Administrator only, when the client is licensed for rules. Everyone else sees the findings rules produce, not the rules themselves.

Rules are grouped by trigger, each group counted, with totals for how many rules exist and how many are active above.

TriggerWhen it fires

Opening a rule opens The Rule Workspace.

A rule change applies from the next evaluation. Existing findings are not rewritten, which is deliberate: a finding records what was true when someone looked, and quietly rewriting history would make the audit trail useless.

  • Empty - a client with no rules says so, though rules are seeded so this is rare.
  • Blocked - without the rules module the screen is not in the sidebar, and a saved link to it says the module is not part of your plan.
